Our Texas home has a problem with spiders
Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment
It’s inside of our home, and there are no webs, meaning it’s “ground” spiders, such as a wolf spider and the such. I know they say spiders are good for pest control – but it has now gotten to the point these spiders are a pest, themselves.
We’re getting bitten. I’m finding them everywhere. I’ve contemplated starting a Terminex contract but wanted to see if there is a way I can take care of this myself before forking out so much $$$.
Please post your suggestions that have WORKED. Thanks.

I have very little DIY experience – Is it possible for me to turn my garage into a finished basement myself?
Filed Under Uncategorized | 6 Comments
I have a garage under my house that I would love to turn into a finished basement. (It’s slightly smaller than a 2 car garage, with two large garage doors.) I don’t have much DIY experience, but I’m a quick learner. Is this something I could handle taking on myself, with the proper resources? Would I need to get a permit?

The kitchen was an addition by a previous owner and not everything is square. I don’t want to start cutting tiles.

How can my DIY sales on eBay be increased?
Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment
My sales have been very dead lately and I don’t really understand why. I make clothing and accessories and sell rare finds but I don’t get why my sales have practically died in the past couple of months when I see other sellers doing just fine. What are good ways to advertise?

Your experience with home alarm systems
Filed Under Uncategorized | 4 Comments
Essentially I live in a small townhome and a rash of buglarys have started to happen. The neighbor at the end of my street house was broken into. He now has gotten a buglary alarm from sloman’s sheid with all the services. I am kind of under the impression based on what I’ve heard that the police kind of come real late anyway. I notice you can purchase the diy type of kits. The home monitoring services are real cheap some are 8.95 a month. I was also curious about just doing a camera setup get like 5 cameras and put them all over the place outside and record with a DVR (digital video recorder) in the attic. The cameras are real cheap on ebay. Anybody had any experience with these systems….. Really is it all worth it….

I read that stepper motors from old tape drives or dot-matrix printers are low rpm and good for making wind turbines, but I can’t find either of those for the life of me. Are there any other common household items that would have a suitable motor to use as a wind power generator?

I want a patio in my backyard. How hard is it to DIY? Should I get it professionally done?

If getting it profesionally done, what is a good price? If doing it myself, what do I need to know that the instructions on the bag won’t tell you?

I am planning my wedding, but don’t have a huge budget to work with. I would like to save money in some areas so that I can put more money towards the bigger necessities. Does anyone have any good suggestions to save money or resources that can point me in the right direction?
