go to AC Moore, or MIchaels. Any craft store that has wooden frames. Get a few (they should be like a dollar or two.) Go to the scrapbooking section and pick out a bunch of 12×12 paper. Go to the paint section and pick out a color that goes with the paper you got (so if you pick out nuetral paper, get like a tan or brown, anything else I would do white or black) glue the paper to the frame, cut out the part where the pcture goes and paint the back. Should cost you like $10 and you will get like 4-5 gifts from it =)

Something you could do would be to get them an animal from a shelter. They don’t cost too much and if they ever are lonely…

Get a Martha Stewart holiday magazine..she always has really cool ideas. You could make people ornaments, or if you’re a good baker, you could make people cookies and put them in nice tins or jars wrapped with a nice ribbon.

If you are artistic, you could make people nice handmade painted cards, or buy cheap piggy banks and repaint them in a really interesting way.

Cheap snow globes are always a good classic even if their from the dollar store. Really it all depends who your looking for. Also sweet cards or little poems are thoughtful. A candy cane with a little note attached. A personalized christmas tree ornament. A personalized cd burnt with favorite songs/xmas songs or whatever.

Get some inexpensive clear glass jars from the store, then layer inside 1. Pretty stones on the bottom in the colour of the persons birthstone or in a holiday colour. 2. Potpourri on top of that 3. A candle on top. If they’re the kind with the little knob in the lid, add a Hershey kiss or two. If they’re the jelly jar kind, wrap the lid in cloth and glue on a pretty patch. If they’re the candlejar type, wrap the whole thing in matching chiffon and tie at the top.

This is the biggest holiday of the year, and you can’t be cheap about it. Some families spend thousands of dollars on decorations alone.

I did this last year and it was a big hit with all the people I gave them to.
I bought small to med. size clay pots and spray painted them, silver, gold, red, white with red polka dots, etc…..whatever your preference or the gift recipients preference.
I also purchased a few bags of “paper-whites” bulbs and planted them in pot and tied a pretty bow on them.
It will take about 4-5 weeks for the bulbs to be in bloom or almost in bloom for gift giving time so this is something you would want to make in the next week or so.
the clay pots cost anywhere from .60-1.25
the spray paint cans cost about 2.50
bag of potting soil, about 4.00
    paper white bulbs, about 6/4.00

I made about 20 of these and total cost for all was $45.00

Magnetic Board with homemade magnets or their name with vellum on it. For magnets, get a magnet, a clear craft stone, and glue them together with a word on paper in between the two.
Or you could make light switch covers or a small scrapbook or a wire picture holder or picture frames.
