I’m moving into a new place…only problem (for me)is that the lounge and kitchen are one room technically….I want to separate the two with a counter of sorts that I can use in the kitchen and won’t look out of place in the lounge area….

Can I use a wood? My idea is that on the kitchen side it’s a counter top with floor cupboards and on the lounge side its just a smooth piece of wood (painted)

Can anybody help me in going about this idea of mine….I’ve never hammered a nail in my life. PLEASE!!!!

Sounds like a great idea! Do you have one of the large home centers in your area that does classes? If you do, it might be helpful to take one of their classes to learn a little about basic carpentry before starting your project.
