List of things needed:
1/2 gallon clean,plastic bottle , airline tubing , check valve(optional),
yeast, sugar, measuring cup and some diffuser(airstone, etc,) a drill or
something else to make a hole.
Now it's time to start working, start by drilling a hole in the cap of the bottle smaller than the outer of the airline pipe(somewhat airtight).
Now slide in the airline pipe through the bottle cap and then connect the check valve (optional) and the airstone to the airline. Now make a mix of yeast, sugar, baking soda (optional) and water. These should go in an order sugar first water second baking soda (optional) and at last yeast.
Now put the airstone into the tank and wait till yeast produces
co2.It can take about 30 mins or an hour also. Now you can have your
live plants in there.

Search around, there are lots of articles on DIY c02 systems. Heres a good one i found in which you can use easily available materials.

You can also buy a c02 diffuser and attach it to the tubing to make sure the c02 is properly injected into the water. Also once youre finished make sure you monitor the ph of the water since c02 can change the ph.
