    Even better than that is a composting toilet. That’s right. It uses no water and it turns your waste into compost material for your garden. It uses a small heater and fan, but these are often operated via a small solar panel. (And no, it doesn’t stink, as the fan is constantly venting the toilet outside the house.)

    For those with the ability to install a system like this, I don’t see how it would be going too far at all. Unfortunately, for many apartment dwellers, we just don’t have that option. Which is a downer.
